Started early again this morning….oh well 8.30 , which is early enough.Today we are going to Cordoba which is perhaps Spain's most Moorish city with a great mosque, the Mezquita(the Cathedral), one if Islam's most important pieces of architecture outside the Arab world. It has architectural grandeur that is jaw dropping. We walked around that for about 30 minutes and then went back into the street where we enjoyed looking at the small white washed houses with geraniums hanging on the balconies or walls, the winding streets and the colorful squares in which there were about 4 horse and carriages just waiting to take someone for a leisurely ride .It was time to head back to the bus at 11am to make our way into the heart of La Mancha, famed for it's castles and windmills. I didn't see any castles but got a glimpse of some windmills. We reached Madrid around 4.30 this afternoon.Time to download some photos and go to the chemist.Tonight we had a tapas meal of authentic Spanish food.It was pretty good and only one seafood dish! After dinner we had an orientation tour of Madrid to admire the city with it's beautiful avenues, promenades and illuminated fountains.Back at the hotel by 10pm…..l'm really pooped!

Andrea Stringer Thanks for the gratuitous horse & carriage shot! Hope you're feeling better soon - I've gone out in sympathy, am off work sick today.
