This morning we got up and headed to the Palace of Madrid. On our way we stopped at a little cafe and had churros con chocolate. It was much better than the one we had the other night.
The Palace was breath taking. It was very grand and the detail in each room was amazing.
Pammie wanted to explore more, not just the tourist sections. If there wasn’t so much security, I’m sure she would have tried to sneak behind a curtain. She really wanted to get to the parts where the royal family lives and see if the king leaves his underwear on the bedroom floor.
Then we were off to the soccer game of athletico Madrid vs athletico Bilbao. The new stadium holds approx 70000 and it was almost full. It was 2-0 Madrid in the end though Madrid spent most of the game attacking so it was more exciting than most soccer games.
We then came back to our Airbnb and had a picnic supper with Spanish wine, jamon, cheese, and other meats. We had originally planned on going to a market for supper but upon seeing 2 euro toothpicks of food and 20 euro come of calamari or octopus we decided to picnic instead.
