Great Ocean Road
Parking the bus up at Mt Boninyong we headed off to explore the Graat Ocean Road
With swags and camping gear we sure had a big load.
Remind us never to go camping in Victoria again,
Getting to Warnambool it was about to rain.
Luckily this time we did bring a tarp, so we set it up real smart.
The foreshore precinct had many parks for the kids to play,
A good choice for our first spot to stay.
Visiting the ancient (20 million year old) volcano Tower Hill,
We saw an emu so stood very still.
Then a hive of native bee.
And Kevin the Koala up a tree.
Twelve apostles we were amazed,
We could not stop our gaze.
Their huge pillars of limestone
Looked like people standing all alone.
To picturesc Apollo Bay
For 2 nights we did stay.
We took a walk at Triplet falls trail,
And did discover the carnivorous Otway Black snail.
At the tall Redwood forest on the logs we did climb,
And had fun catching crayfish in the river slime.
Onto seeing some cute koalas by six
Next to a paddock with Jersey cows -what a funny mix.
Continuing on the windy coastal road we did stick,
which the returned service men originally made with a pick.
A walk on Australia's surfing icon -Bells Beach,
Then to our hotel at Torque we did reach.
The hotel Lotte did organise and made the call,
It should be good fun what we have install.
The surf outlet shops were way to dear, Archie chose a hat
Then a visit to the surf museum and that was that.
A visit in Geelong Paul, Kara and Frank we did meet,
But the rain unfortunately we did not beat.
We did enjoy our Great Ocean Road roam
Now it is time to head back to our bus we call home.
