Arriving late at Melb Monday we went to dinner at Lucy and Paul's, with Jane and Malcie also there. Staying with the lovely Ec and Lesleigh we met many of Tim's family for lunch and spent the afternoon at the beach.
Off to Wilsons Promentry we headed off, a beautiful day and the water on the drive there looked amazing. We camped at Yanakie caravan park on the boarder of the national park as Wilsons Prom national park only had bookings via ballet until end of Jan, on getting there we set up camping in our swags and prepared for the following day.
With the forcast not that impresive and the morning starting with fog we were not sure of what to expect. The first impressions of the coast were that it was similar to the East Coast of Tas. We walked along Whisky Bay Beach with our rain jackets on then headed to the vistors centre where we found a book on Australian shells- perfect for Archie's collection. Feeling energetic (well Tim and Melrose were) we decided to walk the 7.4km round trip up Mt Bruce (319m). Congrats to the kids for their efforts and the view was pretty cool especially as the fog had lifted. By now the weather had warmed up, so onto Tidal River to Norman Bay Beach for a few hours on the beach and swimming. Returning to camp for dinner and bed.
