Hey all!
Hope everything is going well in the states! I just got back to my site, after nearly 3 weeks away! I first ran a half marathon (in under 2 hours!) in Lima, then spent 2 weeks in Pittsbugh and Minnesota. I forgot how clean and organized everything is. The states is by far the most efficient and organized place I have ever been. Cars are quiet, no honking, and cleaner than my usual mode of transportation. I dont look at the seats, questioning whether that stain is either throw up or pee from a gross, drunk, smelly peruvian. (they arent all like that. But the ones who leave the stains are.) The music is great, not whining on the radio about someone crying and missing someone because they died in war or died of disease.
The picture is of my family and I, biking near the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin. What a beautiful big lake behind us! I also saw 4 movies! Nice to have a selection in english.
Now that I am back in site, I am reminded of all the unfnished business that I left before. This dry latrine project really needs to start. I just realised that I have less than 6 months left! Probably more like 5 months, if I decide to leave in early November. Time has flown, but yet at the same time creeps by at snail pace. I can't believe at the advancements I have made personally, and with my community, but at the same time want to pull my hair out, waiting for my time to be up. All in all, I'm still very happy to be here, (though I miss the states) and am determined more than ever to finish this project before I leave.
Happy travels,
Teigan

Mom Great to have you at home, Teig. And nice to see Lake Pepin behind us. The ticks are probably jumping on us right as the photo was being taken. Hello to everyone in La Venta, your host Mom, Nora, and also your host Dad, Pedro. I hope your latrine project goes well. Love you.
