Hey everyone!
Hope you are all well in the states. Lets talk about attitudes:
I have noticed that in the past few months, my attitude towards peruvians has been so negative! For someone who is positive most of the time, its hard to admitt to yourself that you have a bad attitude. The funny thing is, it sneaks up on you so slowly, then one day you realize that you are a drag to be around. I usually dont vocalize my distaste for peruvians. But I definitely have noticed my instant change in mood when someone tries to talk to me that I dont know. Thus, I have been trying to get rid of my bad attitude. I remember when I used to embrace people, trust them, and expect good from man kind. Ignorance will always be bliss I guess.
My new "ridding Teigan of negativity" technique is...believe it or not....meditating. Yes, the rugby player, soccer player, engineer, and just general badass...meditating. I spend 30 minutes almost every day clearing my mind and sitting in silence. And guess what. Its working! I generally dont get so mad when someone catcalls me, or whistles at me in the street. I stop ignoring people who come up to me to ask me where I am from and what I am doing there. I even find myself realizing that, literally in 10 minutes, whatever I'm frustrated or mad about wont matter. I just wasted all that time being mad about it. I feel more tranquillity after meditating than at any other time in my life. And its a great feeling.
So things are going better with these new techniques. Though I find it hard to stay motivated to sit in silence for 30 minutes every day. I recommend it to anyone that feels their mind is disturbed, anyone that feels at war with themselves, or anyone that just wants a little inner peace!

Dont worry family, I'm not a hippy. Though these pants I found in a shop are real special! I almost bought them for a halloween costume. They were so tight on me! Can you believe that people actually wear pants like that, and that tight!
Miss you all in the states!
Teigan

Karen Do you mediate in those pants, Teig? We miss you very much, too. Love, Mom
John That is a cool pose, Teigan! But, I can't place your location. Are you in Ica? What are the thumbs up about anyway? Dad
Djuna Who ever called you a badass? Maybe in Peru where everyone is a foot shorter than you. Also, are you sure people are whistling at you and not just calling to a cat or puppy nearby?
