After our night out at Temple nightclub we had a much needed lie in. Once we were up we had a look round the market stalls again to pick a zip up jumper each to take on the Inca trail. After lots of searching we found some nice ones and bought them together to haggle the price down. After some lunch and a massive caramel filled pastry we went to visit the Chocolate museum where we learnt lots about the cultivation of cacoa and how chocolate was made. We also tried some guilt free zero calorie tea made from cocoa bean shells, which tasted just like chocolate. We were hoping to visit the San Pedro market but it was closed so we are hoping it is open when we arrive back from our Inca trail. We went to a supermarket to stock up on snacks and spotted some Roquefort cheese which we just had to buy as we are both missing cheese from home. Peruvian cheese is quite rubbery and salty. Needing some hangover/comfort food Eddy had chicken nuggets at McDonalds whilst I saved myself up to try some alpaca steak that evening. Alpaca is a lean red meat and so is meant to be healthy. I just had it fried with onions and potatoes. It was nice but a bit on the chewy side. Whilst leaving McDonalds we were targetted by various artists selling paintings. We could only afford to buy one each which the different sellers didn't seem to understand and then offered to go with us to take out more money so we could buy more. Obviously we didn't agree to that! We did however each pick one painting of the Sacred Valley in watercolour. They were very colourful and after haggling a bit we didn't hesistate to spend about £10 each on them. The evening was then spent packing for the trail and getting an early night ready for a 6am pick up to start the hike!
