Day 78 - Caiguna Blowholes to Whitewell Tank RA 'Head of the Bight' (553km)
As we were driving out of the Rest Area we stopped to have a look at the Caiguna Blowholes. We could hear the cave breathing but it wasn't anything exciting!
It was an extremely windy and slow driving day today mostly sitting on 80kms instead of 100kms. We thought heading east on the Nullarbor we would have tail winds but unfortunately not.
Our first stop was Cocklebiddy Roadhouse for fuel and to look at the two wedges tail eagles that they have rescued and homed. One of them put on a show with its wings spread and the other was eating.
We then stopped at the border of WA/SA for a photo at the sign, with the big kangaroo and a photo with a foot in each state! We also lost one and a half hours when we crossed the border so it's going to be a quick day!
We stopped at the 3 scenic lookouts to admire the bunda cliffs and the ocean.
We stopped for fuel at Mundrabilla.
We still can't get used to the road trains every time one goes past us heading the other direction the whole car shakes and unfortunately it's a common occurrence!
The kids have been fantastic keeping themselves entertained building lego and playing so nicely together.
We arrived at the Head of the Bight at 4:45pm which is where we are camping tonight so we can see the whales in the morning.
The kids played outside with some other kids and I was sensible and stayed indoors out of the wind and read. Rog went and talked to another couple then Rog & Bronte then went to the communal fire and enjoyed chatting to everyone while Josh watched a movie and I cooked dinner.
