Day 7 Orroroo, SA - Woomera (271kms – 5hrs 15 mins)
We left the caravan park at 8:45am and fueled at Port Augusta. The kids love when we fill up at Coles Express so they can get the coles mini's. We then stopped at Woolworths in Port Augusta and stocked up. I had to play tetris to fit everything in the fridge!
We enjoyed a fresh lamington cake then drove out of Port Augusta and turned right onto the Stuart Highway. It was a terrible driving day due to the extremely strong winds. We saw lots of emu's and arrived at Woomera Travellers Village & Caravan Park at 2pm. We had lunch, did some washing, Josh rode his bike around and the kids friends from Orroroo arrived so the kids had fun with them again.
Then we went for a drive to look at the historical rocket and missile testing relics from the 60's & 70's that are on display around the town. We then drove to the school oval to look for Kangaroo's but unfortunately they weren't there so we had a run around and then Josh spotted one out the back so he chased that and burnt off some energy. We saw a beautiful tree that looked like it had been painted. We then drove to the other oval but again no kangaroos. We then stopped at Breen Park for the kids to have a play and they also have avairys with birds. Josh loved the cockies as they let him scratch their heads and would say 'hello' and 'goodbye' and were very entertaining.
After dragging the kids away it was back to the caravan for dinner, showers, rummy-o and a movie.
