Happy Fathers Day to all the daddy's out there!
Today marks 8 weeks on the road and we have travelled over 13,000 kms.
The kids were very excited when they woke up and couldn't wait to give daddy his cards and presents. Unfortunately Rog lucked out (as father's day sprung up on me) and got a BBQ hot plate liner and a packet of burger rings!
Rog then went for one last swim at Wangi Falls then we left Litchfield National Park around 9:30am. We stopped in Batchelor to buy some more bread then continued on our way stopping at Pine Creek for a quick fuel top-up and to have lunch.
We then arrived at Edith Falls around 2:30pm. We were all very hot and couldn't wait to go for a swim. The falls were only small but the pool is huge and the biggest natural pool we have seen to date. There are lots of fish swimming around which Josh was very excited about. We spent a fair while in the water and Rog swam over to the waterfall. We spoke to a few different people then headed back to our campsite.
We sat outside listening to all the birds and relaxing in a shady grassed area. I cooked Rog a very fancy fathers day dinner (Alfredo pasta with tuna, peas and corn - pretty much a pantry dinner until we restock in Katherine tomorrow. Luckily he loved it!) then while I cleaned up Rog took the kids back to the pool for a swim.
We spoke to a few different people who are staying around us and then it was bed time for the kids. The kids are so funny and love checking out everyone else's caravans, campervans, camper trailers etc. They are such sticky beaks!
