Covered a lot this morning despite leaving at 10:30 though I guess it is possible when we do not go in to explore as most require an entrance fee of 8 euros. After Alcaraz Palace, think 8 is a bit steep :-p
So walked past several tourist spots - St stephen church, arabic bath (spa), pilates house, house of pinelo, flamenco museum, lebrija palace, incarnacion market, metropole parasol and some churches whose doors were opened.
Highlight was to buy biscuits (torta de santa clara) from a monastery (monasterio santa maria de jesus) even though it was twice the price. But not everyday we buy biscuits made by nuns. It's a bit too sweet so don't think we will finish it. we will have to lug it to Carzola with us.
Walking to bus station to get our tickets to Baeza, we stumbled into a really really nice gentleman who showed us his beautifully exquisite home. It was like a mini Royal Albert
Hall with grand paintings and high ceilings. But the lovely thing was he did not chase us away when we peered into his home - he welcomed us instead. So another nice memory of how gracious some people can be towards strangers.
Our to-do for our workaway host was to get some Chinese groceries. Can't believe they adopted same opening hours as locals where they close shop from 14:00 to 17:00. Oh well, when in Rome...
We returned to Bodega Santa Cruz as we liked that place for its ambience and food. We tried Levies night before but felt portions were too big. There are loads of restaurants around so don't think one can ever go hungry. Can't really recall when was the last time I had a proper 2 or 3 course meal. Think it could be months. It's either a dish at restaurant or a dish we cooked.
Seville is a nice place - romantic with the horse carriages and quaint little cobbled streets lit with beautiful lights while stumbling into either old churches/buildings or a bar :-) to order a cerveza.
