Palace of Alcazar. First place I actually paid to go in. But worth it as the architecture is really beautiful.
Wonder how it was like when the Moors were living there. Probably not as chaotic. Naturally there were many people. Seems it is still being used as a palace which makes it one of the oldest still in use in the world.
Did not get the guide as it was 4 euros so don't have details on what each area represents :-( but my favourite parts are the living quarters because of it's grand moorish architecture and the peaceful gardens with peacocks (before a bunch of tourists broke the peace with noise). Not to forget the first building I went into which is a lovely room overlooking a little pool. The ceilings were intricately carved in white material (marble?) and sitting there while waiting for lee kuen was bliss.
The cathedral (biggest in world) was next to the palace. But we chose not to go in. Sorry but it looks just like the ones we saw in Salamanca and Zamora where both we got in for free. In Zamora, they gave us 2 free passes with Lee Kuen's press pass... Did not work for Alcazar.
