Day 5
So it turns out my $4 bargain shoes from K-Mart aren't as great as I thought. I got a blister on the top of my big toe a few days ago and woke up this morning with this flaming infection and gimpy limp going on cause I couldn't walk properly. Thankfully Kununurra has a Target Country where I could buy some new shoes and socks.
We left Kununurra after we stocked up on some supplies from Coles. While I was in the shops I took a sneaky look at the pink diamonds hoping there would be something in my price range - way out of luck, think I could probably gets grain on salt size with my money haha.
So we headed off to start the Gibb Road. We went for a look around Wyndham. Wyndham has the largest Boab tree which was massive - there was a donkey standing next to the tree and the girls were more interested in him than looking at the tree.
Then we went past the port and then onto Five Rivers Lookout - it was amazing and would be absolutely spectacular in the wet season.
We then went back into town and had lunch in the park in the centre of town that has a giant crocodile sculpture. We also witnessed a pair of locals fighting and swearing and Eri quickly pointed out to Andy that 'they keep saying the F word'. Thankfully the local bottles hop is run by two lovely white men who let us use their clean toilet so we didn't have to use the public ones - I was so greatful.
After lunch we headed to El Questro where we camped for the night.
We got all set up and went down to their 'safe' swimming spot. The girls and Andy jumped straight in and loved it- me not so much, I can't understand how there are crocodiles everywhere but this little section is 'safe' so I just went in upto mid calf.
Did the usual afternoon routine. Someone told mum she saw this poor woman with 4 girls at the showers - mum didn't say she knew me but had a laugh.
