Day 25
Another early start to the trip - 5.14am. I'm starting to get over these early mornings and an looking forward to getting home to a decent bed and normality again.
We headed off early at about 7am this morning in to the Bungle Bungle National Park. It was only 50km but took us a hour and a half due to the road conditions - very very rough, roughest of the whole trip.
Purchased a few items from the Information Centre and got some advice on the best and easiest walks to do.
We head to Piccininny Gorge first - half an hour away and only 1km into the Gorge - winning!!
Well it was so ridiculously hot - felt like about 50 degrees. And turns out my now Target specials radiate the heat as my feet were burning.
But it was so worth the walk - it's one of the most spectacular things we'll ever see. It's amazing!!! Dad even said it was the best Gorge he's ever seen and Trust me he's seen some Gorges.
Left Piccininny and headed back to the information centre where we had lunch and by now it is just sooo hot.
Next trek was another half hour away to Echidna Chasm and it was only a 2km round trip too.
This trek was more a rocky path and again was just amazing. Rock formations are just so high and pathways through are in some places very tight to maneuver through.
We left Echidna about 3pm and headed back for camp. Took a little longer as Lucy was a little carsick on the shocking roads.
Made it back just before 5pm - then had the usual stuff to get sorted and we are again in bed by 8.30, today though absolutely exhausted from our day trekking in he hot WA sun.
Tomorrow we start heading for home - 3 nights till home firstly stopping in Kununurra. Just can't wait to be home - 4weeks has been a little too long on the camper trailer.
