Day 24
Yes, yes we made it through the night and will live to tell another tale.
Andy starts today at 4.30am and decides to wake up to the crater to catch the amazing sunrise over it. He says it was beautiful - I'll take his word for it and see the photos.
Little bit cool overnight so girls and I are a bit slow to get going.
We pack up camp after breaky and more toilet runs or lack off and today we were NOT LAST - YAY!!!!
Long drive along the dirt when you know you have no spare.
We head off back to Halls Creek hoping to. be able to find some tyres. Arrive there by about 10am and everything is closed up for the public holiday. We tried the servo, the police, the IGA and nothing. As a last resort Andy heads to the pub to get some drinks (only light beer and no spirits in this town) but one good thing is the told him of a yard that would be open - YAY!!!
Off we head - two second hand tyres. We are back in the game and happy.
So we only have another hour or so to go and about half way there - what do you know??? Yep, another shredded tyre. This time it made it very hard to pull up the car and we were swerving all over - luckily no one was coming. It was a little scary.
And thank god we found those tyres in Halls Creek or we could still be sitting on the side of the road.
We always seems to arrive in the heat if the day and today was no different - it is just sooo hot.
Andy did most of the set up today cause I was just a bit meh today.
After setup we went looking for a waterhole for the girls to swim - but no luck.
Girls played some games around camp and had a great time.
Can't believe I'm going to say this but we were all in bed by 8.20pm - this is just crazy
