Day 23
We left Fitzroy Crossing about 8.30am and as usual we were the last ones ready.
Nice easy drive this morning with no dramas.
Stopped in Halls Creek for fuel and had lunch there too. Very clean toilets in the centre of town surprisingly.
Head the last 20km to Wolfe Creek. Gotta say I was a little scared about coming here. On the way out shredded another tyre which has now left us with no spare for tomorrow to get out and it's a public holiday in WA so it's not looking good for getting new ones.
Arrived at the crater and after a short uphill walk is an amazing site. Was kind of like walking up Telstra Hill at home and gosh my calves were burning by the top.
Continued on to the nearby camp ground and set up for the evening. Now by mid afternoon the girls are busting and we are in a national park bush camping with facilities (trust me this term is used very loosely). So we head for the facilities which if course is a long drop. Eri steps up and goes, Lucy walks in and see spiders and webs everywhere and goes running and Tor and Charlee don't even set foot in.
So we have two options, now we head for the second - this one stinks argh. Back to the first one with Andy in toe to clear the spiders. Even after this still no one used it.
Andy then had to setup our bush toilet 20m from camp and dig a hole - they were much happier. Gotta say I used the facilities but only twice for our stay.
Saw another amazing sunset with beautiful colours.
No showers here, so littlies got a wash down with the sponge and big girls had a bush shower. Andy and I were so tired. We just washed our almost orange feet.
The girls were crazy around camp this arvo so the had an early night.
I'm laying here at about 9.30pm hearing every single noise wondering if it's someone walking about outside and hoping I'm going to still be able to update tomorrow's blog.
