So I'm trying to keep up to date with my blog instead of writing every 3 months. I'm now in Trondheim and I leave tomorrow morning to Bergen. The rest of the summer camp was a lot of fun. Just teaching the wonderful kids and enjoying other activities that were organised. Such as attending my first ever FOAM PARTY!!! (skumfest) It was so much fun. The foam was filled in a jumping castle type thing but without the cushioning floor, it was just a normal floor. Maybe the pictures will explain it more, but pretty much you have everyone just covered in foam, slipping and sliding all over the place. Funtimes. Oh and the weather has been horrible! Non-stop rain all the time except for one day and that was the day the kids went to make a performance in the town. So luckily it turned out well and then the next day it was cloudy and raining again. Typical Norwegian weather.
Anyways so now I'm in Trondheim and I was staying at Tomas's place (Ollerup student… most of my travels are visiting former students) but now I'm at another person's place (Marthe from the summer camp) as Tomas's is sick and we wanted to be safe. The swine flu has been going around, 2 kids from the camp have it and at least 15 kids and some of the coaches are sick but not sure if they have it, they're going to get tested and see. Eeekkk… not so good. Marthe has been so lovely to us, she's taken us everywhere! Oh yes Cajsa and Daniel have moved here so I've been with them which is nice. The first night in Trondheim we were with Tomas and he drove us around the town and then through the mountains where we were trying to spot some moose but we were unlucky and it got too dark so we couldn't tell if it was a tree or something else. But it was still a nice drive. It's a big change from Denmark where it is so flat. Norway is filled with mountains! It's so beautiful.
So the next day we went to a rotating restaurant on top of the Tyholt Tower which is 120m high and rotates all around in 1 hour. It was a very nice view of the whole city. We later visited the Kristiansten Fortress which was built in 1681. It's a very nice building with stone walls all around it and also with a nice view of the city. We then went to the old town and saw the first ever bicycle lift in the world… very cool and the bridge and buildings. It is a very nice town. And the buildings by the water are all on stilts. Later on we went walking in the woods looking for moose. Probably not a good idea as they are very dangerous animals but it was exciting at the same time. It was quite a nice walk except for the mud but we got around it and saw mushrooms of our sizes, shapes and colours. Also spotted some fresh moose tracks and apparently we were real close to one as we met a guy who said he saw really big one just 10m in front of us! Anyways we were unlucky again to spot one but at least it didn't rain on us.
Today was a lovely beautiful sunny day and we went to Ikea to eat Swedish meatballs haha. Also went into town to get some souvenirs but unfortunately couldn't find any shot glasses so just got postcards instead. But tonight we are going to sit outside on the balcony and drink some red wine until it gets too cold and then go inside and watch a girl movie… yes we're having a girly night as Daniel got a job and has left for a few days. Then I'm up bright and early tomorrow morning to catch the bus to the airport… yippee.
