FINALLY in Guatemala!

Left for the airport at 6am. Got there and checked in no problem. Had some breakfast before going through security. The airport was really small! There were no flight info once we got past security so it was all on announcement! Thankfully I was with the others otherwise I would probably have missed my flight lol! The flight to Mexico City was smooth. When we were getting ready to land the view of Mexico City was just full of skyscrapers and many buildings. A huge contrast to the view of Cancun when landing!
Got our bags pretty quickly and checked in for our flight to Guatemala City. I checked in without a problem, got my boarding pass. A shame the same couldn't be said for the others! They were told that they had to go to the immigration office to pay the departure tax even though it had been less than 7 days since we re-entered Mexico. So of course they weren't very happy about that. Poor things! I was very pleased to have saved money lol!
We didn't have a lot of time to spare and the queue through security was huge! Of course I had to choose the slowest queue! And the Russians got searched, poor them!
Managed to get to the plane with a bit of time to spare.

Immigration once arriving in Guatemala was smooth and simple. No questions asked unlike my arrival in Mexico lol! But of course I had to choose the slowest queue once again!

Got my bag but there was a plastic tag holding the zips together so I couldn't unzip to get my straps out. A group of men tried and failed to help me until a guy with a lighter managed to melt the plastic and set it free!

Checked in the hotel and then went out to explore Antigua for a bit before heading to a wine bar then to a restaurant. (Wasn't a good idea to go just before dinner! :p)

Booked a volcano walk tomorrow so should be good hopefully! So an early start again as have to leave at 6am! Gone are the days where I slept in until 9am lol!
