Tamara's Travels
I'm in Scotland!!
Well, here I am in Glasgow with lovely weather to boot!! Just kidding, apparently the whole of the UK is having one of their worse summers - lucky me :)
26th August to 3rd September - Glasgow
Ah, Glasgow. Family. I'm such a people person, I have really missed being around friends and family, and this week was great. I pretty much spent my time doing a little sightseeing, but mostly relaxing and making decisions and plans.
After a disastrous blow of what would be inability to work in Scotland as a teacher due to 6-8weeks of paperwork shuffling requirements, I decided that London would be the best option for me. As in 8 weeks time I'd be on my way back to Melbourne. This in itself caused a bit of stress - was it what I really wanted to do? Had I done everything I intended? Would I leave regretting going home? Yes, yes, no, respectively. Sounds easy, didn't really feel like it at the time, yet I had this definite feeling in the pit of my stomach that told me I was doing what I really wanted. I had stopped pushing things to be the way I thought they would go, and decided to go with the flow. I know I'll be back to the UK, but next time it will be more likely as a tourist.
So having booked a flight home, finding work and accommodation was next to sort out. I love how well I can manifest. Will had not rented out my room, saying, "Had a feeling you'd be back." So as easy as that - I had somewhere to live for 7 weeks - ace!!
Catching up with family was brilliant. It had been nearly 14years since I'd seen them. That's a long time, and the compliment of compliments for me was that they didn't believe that I was going to be 27 this birthday :)
Ahh, my birthday. All out treating myself to a day of luxury. Full body massage (a present from my Aunty and Uncle - Thank you), a new hairstyle and French manicure. Followed by a roast chicken dinner with Aunty Gloria, Uncle Michael and Danny, with Aunty Arlene and David around for cake later. Just fantastic - even if I was trying to get used to the new haircut. It's grown on me.
Went out to see Uncle Jack and Aunty Norma, who are my Nana's sister and brother in-law. Family resemblances - scary. I never realised just how much I take after Mum's side of the family. I'd come to see the family resemblances between mum and I, but with the rest of the family, including cousins and 2nd cousins, it's very much there. And Fi, you don't escape either, I can see where you get your looks from Nana and Aunty Norma. Check out some of the photos.
