RESULT!!!! Today was probably my favourite day so far! I went on a trip to Moreton Island, which is a big, pretty much uninhabitated island 2 hours off Brisbane. And, its paradise! Saw dolphins on the way over too! I was sitting with my legs over the side of the boat and a whole school of them appeared playing next to the boat, and in the wake - they really are super special! Hippy Heaven to Highrise Hell!! Byron Bay was great, just really chilled out, staying at a fun, pretty rural hostel with nice people! The beaches are stunning but the whole vibe there is great too! Then on to Surfers Paradise - we knew it would be chalk and cheese but had not quite anticipated just how cheesy!! The beach there is great for surf, and white sand. The time came to move on from Sydney (unfortunately!) I loved it there heaps and think its such a great city with the combination of beach/ city and harbour. 1) Surfer Chick!! Promised to boast if i got to stand up in my surf lesson - and so here i am boasting! Was a great day, went 4x4ing in sand dunes to a deserted beach about 4 miles long, with some serious surf waiting for us! We surfed/ learnt/ practiced the whole day, and it was EXHAUSTING - am definitely loosing my fitness peak!! Got a little sting by a bluebottle jellyfish (aka man of war!) but have clearly lived to tell the tale of how i can STAND UP ...
