I just spent the past few days learning about Tasmania's greatest dining. First stop, Cascade Brewery. We went on a tour of the factory, which was a lot of fun. They had us wear these awesome bright green vests and huge goggles. At any given point, I had no idea at all what the tour guide was talking about. But she kept giving us different things to smell which was fun. Except for that most every stunk. After the tour, we were allowed to try out 3 beers. Mmmmm! No! My friends forced me to try a beer. They are super smart, because I hated the beer and gave it to them. But then I had some cider which was yummy. The second stop on the tour of Tasmania's great foods was Cadbury. We went there today. It was bit sad, though, because the factory is closed :( But, we still got to go to the grounds and watch a video about how the make chocolate. The best part, of course was the free chocolate. We got some before the film, and they gave us little boxes on the way out (of which I took 2). And of course, I had to buy myself another treat. So I have enough chocolate to last until spring break.
The other night we also made a stop at the casino in town. It was so cool being there. Of the 4 of us that went, I was the lucky one who came home with some money. I won a whole $25 at the slot machine (and then spent some, so I ended up with $18). It was exciting, but we don't plan on going back any time soon. Not that we have too much time left. We are down to our last 3 days of classes (yay) and out last 10 days in Tasmania. We are still working on fitting lots of events in to our last days here. Starting with the waterway's tour tomorrow. Hopefully it won't rain this time. Cross your fingers for us!
