Another early start was slightly harder as we had to pack in the dark in silence but we bumped into mum and dad in the supermarket whilst both shopping for our breakfasts!
We all ate breakfast together back in their hotel room with some nice tea and coffee before saying goodbye and we got our bus out to the airport to get our much anticipated flight to Fiji!! Yayh!!
New Zealand has been amazing! I wasn't sure what to expect as Garth had organised this one, I thought we might have a bit more free/relaxing time than we did but NZ defiantly didn't disappoint on the breath taking geography and views.
I was surprised how modern, clean and impressive the cities were, mixing art with industry. We have been totally blessed and challenge by the amazing hospitality shown to us by both friend and strangers alike.
NZ has amazing scenery; from long white beaches, to rainforest, to glaciers and snow, to lots of crazy mountains! The bird song is beautiful and unlike any I've ever hear before.
No one had warned us about the sand flies which knocked us back a bit...but we had it under control towards the end of our trip.
Camping proved more challenging than expected, not because of the tinniness of our van but putting a city girl in the middle of nowhere without a plan or knowledge of when or where we would next be able to wash with hot water - I found a bit stressful, but Garth was very patient!
I can't believe I've seen whales AND dolphins, walked on glaciers and mountains, tried delicious wine and relived many moments from The Lord of the Rings!
It's been great being in an English speaking country and a 1st world one at that. It's been good to go to church and catch up with Matt and meet the lovely Hannah, and make some new friends along the way. Despite not being able to skydive on numerous occasions we have done everything and more that we wanted to do and it only rained once! We were slightly over budget again, but we are looking forward to no worries in Fiji where its all been paid for and organised!
I could easily live in NZ, and if I did I would live in Wellington! If we come back I'd love to visits the 90 mile beach, Stewart Island and Skydive!
