We woke early to go to the local baptist church to hear Sylvia preach, but at breakfast she asked me to do her reading as her student was unable to attend, and I said yes.
At church I instantly made a new friend who was aged 3 and called Naomi. I practised the reading as much as I could!
The service was good, but unusually long! We watched an amazing video about a tribe receiving the new testament in their own language for the first time! I'd never even thought about that and was quite moved! The pastor interviewed Sylvia on stage before her preach which was great, but he asked really hard questions!
Time to read eventually came, and despite only tumbling on one word the nerves were extremely audible in my voice!!!!
Sylvia spoke on Ezekiel 1 which was most interesting! We ended up staying for an hour after the service chatting - the pastor was born in cape town!
Sylvia made us a lovely vegetable soup for lunch. We were supposed to get a bus over to West Ryde by Sylvia kindly drove us all the way. It was lovely to have seen her!
We arrived at uncle Ivor and Aunty Jans to a houseful! Warren, Nicole, Cooper, Flynn, Peter (Jans brother) and Lorraine (Jans sister in law) celebrating Jans return from South Africa. I had great fun playing with Cooper! After the kids left we had a good chat with Peter and Lorraine and found out they were coming to the UK in July, so would be lovely to see them!
The rest of the evening was chilled with lots of chatting. Was great to hear about South Africa from Jan.
