I have not blogged for some time as I have been on the road. I actually wrote a blog entry before I left Hoi An, but somehow lost the connection and the entry disappeared.
I am now having a rest day in Quy Nhon, which is the capital of Binh Dinh province and a harbour town of some 200 000 inhabitants. It has a quite nice beach, next to which my hotel is located.
I left Hoi An during the latest floods here, so the road from Hoi An to road number 1 was under water in several locations. Maximun water depth was about 40 cm so I was able to ride through. It has been more or less rainy during recent days, which makes riding tolerable. Yesterday I rode 126 km, which is my longest day during this tour so far. First two days from Hoi An I had some headwind, so I had to cut my first planned cycling day short and used two days to ride the first 120 km. I have now less than 700 km to go to Ho Chi Minh City.
I plan to continue riding tomorrow, and I expect to be in Nha Trang in about three days. Nha Trang should be the best beach location in Vietnam with very clean waters and lively night life, so I plan to stop there for some days.
