So, the bus arrived at Champon on the coast at 5am, so we waited (for a glorious sunrise) and the 7am boat to Koh Tao. A good 4 hours boat ride (and a good sleep) later, we docked at the absolutely beautiful Koh Tao, jumped off and headed for a diving resort's hotel. They didn't have room for us so we went off and found a guesthouse which, whilst smelling quite badly of dog, was cheaper than dorms!!
We went off to the beach, where we spent the afternoon just kicking back, and Lambert saw a mate from Uni who he knew was on the island! That night we went for a meal down by the seafront, where we had the most amazing seafood and meat dishes. I had White Snapper and Beef Kebab, Tom elected for Red Snapper and Prawns... outstanding!!! Afterwards we watched a fire show (basically some kids swirling sticks and chains that are on fire about... impressive!) on the seafront. Great night.
Next day, having decided we weren't too bothered about diving, we rented snorkels and went out into the bay at Sairee Beach. Saw loads of beautiful fish and some amazing rock and coral formations... breathtaking... which isn't necessarily a good thing when one is snorkelling!!!! That evening we had a few beers and booked our travel to Koh Phangan for the following day!! The night was concluded in an Aussie Bar called "Choppers" where the show that night was a pair of Australians playing all sorts of sing-a-long hits and incredible medleys... we enjoyed ourselves, as you would tend to!!
