After 23 hours in transit from Vang Vieng to Vientenne, to Nong Kai and then by 12 hour sleeper train to Bangkok... we arrived in Thailand's capital at around 7am... tired, grumpy and sweaty!! Fortunately Tom picked a delightful guesthouse (or more accurately a s***hole!) for us to stay in just off Koh San Road, further improving the mood in the camp!
Never mind... we got sorted and went off for a bit of a look round Bangkok... lovely place, but got pretty burned as it was crazy hot! Went and saw some temples and the outside of the Grand Palace. On the way there we were stopped by some locals who put some bird seed in our hands and made us throw them on the floor... then tried to charge us!!! Despite a bit of an arguement I made it clear they could b***** off and we walked away... cheeky b******s!!!
That evening we had some food, some drinks, then decided to go off to a Ping Pong Show... which, whilst funny, was pretty horrific!!! After a couple more bevvies, we hit the sack!!
Next morning (19th) we got up, arranged our next leg of travelling (to Koa Tao in South Thailand) and went on a bit of a sight-seeing tour with a tuk-tuk driver. His deal was, if we went and looked at buying suits from some of his sponsors, he would get cheaper petrol, and we would get a much cheaper fare... which seemed fare (fair!!)... poor pun!! Anyway he took us around a few temples, a couple of suit shops (we didn't purchase!) and then back to the Grand Palace. From there we headed back towards Koh San Road for some shopping, some pool and to while away the afternoon before our 8pm bus out of there!!
Eventually 8pm arrived... we got on the bus towards Koh Tao, where I watched possibly the worst film I have ever seen in my life... was called "Gamer"... seriously, don't do that to yourself, it's s***e!
