After making it back to Hanoi (finally!), we grabbed a hotel room and had an early night!! Next morning we were up to leave the hotel at 5.45am to make our flight to Laos. I was up earlier so I could speak to Natalie, it being Valentines Day and our 3 year anniversary!!!! Love you gorgeous! Transferred to Hanoi airport (conveniently located an hour from Hanoi!) ready to fly to Vientanne!

So, off we travelled on a bus to Halong Bay... weather was pretty dour, but on arrival the sight of the huge rock islands in the misty dew was something to behold!!! We boarded the junk boat (there were about 50of us!!) and set sail through the thousands of rocks. So, after a horrific sleeper bus to Hanoi, we were woken at 6am by a fella on the bus seemingly trying to get us to go to his hotel. Angered that we had been (rudely!) woken up, we chose to ignore him! Got our own taxi and eventually found somewhere to stay... quite a nice new hotel, fair price, and they'd let us crash in a spare room till ours was ready and give us breakfast... winner!!! Alarms set... 6.45am for an 8 o clock bus to Hue!! Done! Except we slept through and were woken up at 8.05 by reception banging on our door to tell us our bus was waiting!!!
