Got up early in Rainbow Beach, intending to go to Noosa. However, Tom was still worried about his eyes so we decided to head further down to Brisbane so he could get it checked out. Arrived in Brisbane late afternoon and checked into a pretty cool hostel not far from the Suncorp Stadium. We decided to go to Australia Zoo the following day (Sunday) and Tom would get his eye looked at agin on Monday while I continued. That evening we took a walk around and had a McDonalds before going out to watch the finale of the Six Nations... unfortunately England bottled it against Ireland and we made it back to the hostel at about 5am.

Next morning we got up at about 7am (so like two hours sleep!) and got the train to Australia Zoo (Steve Irwins old place) in Beerwah. The zoo was class, if a little damp oweing to it raining pretty heavily!! Saw all kinds of creature (see pics) as well as a crocodile show and later a croc feeding!!! We trooped (absolutley knackered!) back to the train station and Brisbane, where I was getting on an evening bus to Byron Bay.

After an emotional goodbye at the bus station, I left Tom and continued down to Byron Bay. Met Will and Ben from the Whitsundays tour on the bus- they were getting off at Surfers Paradise. Arrived in Byron at nearly midnight and then trudged around trying to find the hostel I had booked for ages. Finally found it, and creeped into my dorm to get some sleep!!!
