Arrived to Kratie at about 16.30, so it took quite a long time after all. Straight to the port, from where the last ferry to Koh Trong left at about 1700. 1000 riel one way and it took about less than 10 mins. When we came to the shore, inmeadetly 2 moto drivers took our packbacks and took us to the Sala Koh Trong, our lodging, about 3 km from the harbour. Gotta still say that I SO do NOT like to be at the back of a moto, though it was only 1$/each. I just find it very repelling, to sit behind a smelly old/oldish guy (or just smelly/greasy), and also it's not so safe, either. Unfortunately here there wasn't any other transportation mean to get to our lodging. :P
Arrived in 10mins or so. The place looked nice from outside and kinda inside, too. BUT...the cabins weren't so tidy, which was a disappointment, and what was the worst thing: the sheets were smelly and dirty!!! :((
Had to ask for new ones, but that wasn't a great improvement, sadly. And there were way too many bugs in bed as well. Mosquito net was also dirty, full of dead bugs. :( We had a net in Ubud, Bali, too, but it was tidy, so the impression is a whole different then!
Also the insect net over "the holes in the walls" in the bathroom were totally broken. And when we complained, they just avoided the responsibility with dumb excusions, which only maked things worse in most of the cases. The guy who runs the place then called to the owner to PP, and we got the 10$ discount on that night. They offered us another cabin, too, but it was smaller and tjere also was the net a bit broken. Duh. All in all, we then settled the thing and stayed, on the condition that they'll repair the net tomorrow.
-- Dinner: way too overpriced(!); 5,50-6,50$ for a basic dish, not so big, either. AND absolutely NO taste, so bland that you hardly could call it food. :C Big disappointment! Also Niina's dish was again almost uneatable, way too sweet! Overpriced s*it just makes you angry, grumpy. So they'll get a fair review to TripAdvisor, you can be sure!
They also didn't got electricity until 6 o'clock when the generator got on. There should've been solar energy, but there just wasn't. The night went with very light sleep, unfortunately. And at about 6.30 in the morning a very heavy construction work began(!), so that's for the good sleep/sleeping in general then.. :(
