The elaborate marble fountain, Fonte Gaia, in the Piazza Del Campo (said to be one of the most distinctive squares in Italy). Most of the square is brick paved - we had our lunch sitting on the ground among many groups of young people.
There are horse races around the Piazza a couple of times a year - very competitive among the locals they say.
