There were many Thermopoli - restaurants throughout Pompeii. There are several round pots that hold anything from food to wine. The graduated line of holesise the 'till' with the varying currency slotted in as you pay for your meal. It seems not much changes over 2000 years!!

The old and the new. The sculpture of the head was created by a European fellow (whose name escapes me) who was born in 1944 and who has many significant works throughout Europe. We found these beautiful oranges and lemons on a stall just outside the gates to Pompeii. Had a huge glass of fresh orange juice after our epic day of exploration.
