Day 25
Leipzig
This morning we woke to rain, quite heavy rain. It rained consistently through breakfast, which we had in the breakfast room in the basment. It is German breakfast. Small choices of cereal, breads and cold meats with tomato, cheeses, cucumber and also yoghurt and boiled eggs. They also have juice and tea or coffee. An interesting line up.
We try to wait for the rain to ease but it doesn't so we head off anyway. Walking up through the town centre isn't too bad and we take refuge in small and interesting shops along the way.
Our destination this morning is the Bach museum. We call into Maccas for morning tea and to dry off and get warm. The temperature is back down to mid teens.
The Bach museum is one of the most interesting museums we have been to. It had lots of interactive displays and music to listen to. There were even some original Bach manuscripts preserved in a special room. It was well organised and we spent the rest of the morning there.
We all braved a bockwurst sausage on a roll for lunch and then headed back to our hotel for an afternoon rest. Phil and I decide to go for a walk and leave the girls to play in the room, we need some space and so do they.
We head back to the Station shopping centre for dinner and are amazed to see all the shops are still open and lots of people still about. It's about 7pm.
We enjoy an Asian dinner and off to bed.
