This is my second attempt of writing tis entry as the first one I some how deleted so ill try keep it short but i do like to ramble as you probably noticed! currently sat in the airport waiting for my plane to Fiji.. Pretty darn excited! Just spent the last 5 days in surfers paradise in the Gold Coast.. It's more like a party holiday resort here, feel like I'm in Zante or maga than aus.Prefer the chilled vib of Byron more, but then you have to take each place for what it is aye? Every night here has felt like I'm featuring in the hangover 3 movie is pretty crazayy so much so I'm sure my body's got a similarity of freshers flu just travel style!
Without meaning too mine and Stacey's new vocations in life has just become being the ultimate scabs or depending how you look at it just got damn lucky and jammy! I some how manage to scrape by on my tiny little budget but still party like a queen! I literally sun bathe all day with a one dolla ice coke from macca's (McDonald's) those bad boys are my saviours and tap water and then can't afford anything else but go out and Australian guys just come upto you and ask to buy you drinks- English guys take note! And I mean if someone's offering its rude to say no yah?! For instance the first night we got there was Friday so even though we were hanging hard from partying in Byron Friday nights illegal to stay in.. True story! So we went on this 2 day pub crawl, which started at five in the afternoon by 12 I was so gone I had to hang up my coat and go home but given i took five dolla's out and got drunk out of my palm tree! There was these 3 Australians which introduced us to jam donut shots and slippery nipples ha much tastier than they sound! And then about 20 Asian Australians decended on us dubbing themselves suitably as the 'Asian invasion'. Those guys where actually insane they kept buying us rows of shots after shots and would then buy you a bottle of water straight after and say 'time to rehydrate'. The second night we thought it wise to attempt the pub crawl half way through the night so did the standard routine of buying some goon and turning back into 14 year olds and going drinking it at the park as you couldn't drink in the hostel as they had a bar! Anyways ending up meeting a big group of people there, 3 of which were guys from Norwich. Such a bladdyyy small world! Again too many free drinks bought even got free pizza and Turkish tea which I got so excited about seriously a nice drink has now become a luxury I just crave a nice drink all day long not even food just anything apart from tap water or alcohol. Still not sure how we do it, I'm thinking its the Stacey gracie duo! The 3rd day I must say my body was hating on me hard and I needed a rest away from toxic beverages, I was finding it quite hard as you don't really get lie ins in a twenty bed dorm, ha it's an experience fo'sure but I get up every day at 7! Which for you guys at home working your probably thinking quit your winging ha sorry! But luckily my nan and grandad's lovely friends who live in the area called me and offered to take me and Stacey out for dinner bless them, it's only been 2 weeks and I was so happy to have a decent meal! They even invited us to there's the next day for dinner! Oh my god there house incredible (nan If you're reading this you and grandad have to go!) it was something out of the OC or grand designs as they designed it themselves. We had a proper authentic Aussie BBQ non of this shrimp of the Barbie crap, we had steak and pork chops ahh my mouth is salivating just thinking about it again! And they were just such a lovely couple it was so nice to feel civilised again not just a skanky traveller! You can spot us back packers a mile off I swear! I walk round with wet hair and no makeup I would not be seen dead doing that at home but in Aussie tradition I just don't give a s*** here!
I stayed here a few days longer to celebrate Stacey's birthday with her so Tuesday we got up, newbies came in the room all of which were boys so it was a bit of a sausage fest! They were all adamant they were drinking all day so at half 11 I had goon for breakfast..and lunch.. And dinner! Whilst chilling by the pool. It just doesn't get better day turns to night and we headed to the park with everyone we'd met that day with the guys playing guitar and singing, moments like that I wish lasted forever! ESP again when I spent no money all day! Loverrrrrly! Promise im not even pimping myself out.. it must just be my good looks pahhh i joke i jest! All day drinking always wise when you have to be up for a bus and then a plane that wasn't too delightful this morning and then I had to say my fair wells to Stacey so the duo is no more which is pretty sad. So once again I'm a loner for a wee while but looking forward to life in paradise! Pretty sure you can't get Internet on some of the island which will actually be pretty nice to be cut off from the world! So will update you again in 2 weeks with all my Fiji news! Ciao xxx
