Arrived in Lai Chau, Muong thanh hotel at 2pm after bus journey. Bum pretty sore now, so called shotgun on the bath, and jumped in when we got to the room, was so nice to sit and relax!! The water was absolutely filthy so had a shower afterwards. The roads here are so dusty, it's no wonder I'm grubby!

Hotel is pretty nice so taking the opportunity to sort out my rucksack for going home. Looking forward to heading to Sapa to get some shopping done!!

Got organised and went downstairs at 4ish thinking everyone else would be there. Ended up being just me and my roomy Karen that were there so we went for a drink with loc, jin and two drivers, ended up going to hotel karaoke with them, it was hilarious!! An hour or so later James came through, then some more people too, we had a good sing song and this was all before dinner!! Ended on 'We are the champions' it was very fitting, so was good fun! Dinner at 7 was just same old; beef, chicken, rice and noodles, didn't really enjoy it though....too nervous for tomorrow!!

Feeling more and more nervous about tomorrows climb; it's Tram Ton Pass!!!

Tram Ton Pass is 1900m, which is the highest mountain pass in Vietnam. On the Sapa side of the mountain the weather is often cold, foggy and generally horrible, so not looking forward to that!! At the Lai Chau side it's sunny and warm. There are ferocious winds that come ripping over the pass. Sapa is the coldest place in Vietnam and Lai Chau is the warmest.
