We drove to Quinta do Lago, parking at the edge of a large salt marsh at Rio Formosa. We walked about a mile on a trail past a large man-made lake to see a variety of birds in the water amongst the rushes and grasses. Most were ducks of several species. Many were Mallards. A mile back to the car and lunch of fried chicken at Julia's.

Notice in the photo that there is a tall "conifer" in the distance. This is a camouflaged cell tower in a posh residential area. A great idea.
