After observing the foursome playing golf two days ago I decided that it looked easy so Marie took me to a driving range at Quinta do Lago for to see what was involved.

But first there was lunch at a place specializing in chicken dishes, Sr. Do Frango. Quiet at first when we arrived it became busier after 1 PM, typical late meal for Portuguese.

Then off to the driving range. Using a 5 and 7 iron and a 9 wood I managed to prove to myself, and any others who dared watch, that it would take many hours of work to be able to 1) hit the ball at all, and 2) make it go any distance when was lucky enough to knock the ball off the tee.

So that called for another swim at Four Seasons which was just the thing before heading back home to Marie's. she prepared a nice dinner of endive wrapped in ham with cheese gratinee. On television we were watching world leaders heading to South Africa for the funeral of Nelson Mandela.
