Church this morning at San Lorenzo Catholic Church followed by lunch at Julia's where we both had beautiful and delicious Sole Meunière. I am not used to having sole whole on the bone so I had the chef debone it for me. Off to Four Seasons for a swim before returning home. Marie prepared Flemish style asparagus (white asparagus with boiled egg slices mixed with butter and herbs).

We drove again to Quinta de Lago for another beach walk at Rio Formosa along the salt marsh, this time going westerly along another lake north of the path. Fewer birds here but interesting flora. Beautiful groves of Umbrella Pine (Pinus Pinea). Lunch at Casavostra Pizza again. Fabulous thin crunchy crust and good service. Very crowded but open atmosphere. Dinner tonight was at Parilla Naturale Steak House where we both had a delicious rib-eye Uraguayan steak.

We drove to Quinta do Lago, parking at the edge of a large salt marsh at Rio Formosa. We walked about a mile on a trail past a large man-made lake to see a variety of birds in the water amongst the rushes and grasses. Most were ducks of several species. Many were Mallards. A mile back to the car and lunch of fried chicken at Julia's. Notice in the photo that there is a tall "conifer" in the distance. This is a camouflaged cell tower in a posh residential area. ...

Lunch today of Fish and Chips at Menta Pimenta and then I went for a swim at Four Seasons this afternoon. Marie stayed dry as she was still recovering from her cold.

New Years Day. Left the party at about 1 AM. lunch at Spikes where we were almost alone with only one other table.
