After nursing a minor hangover, I plucked up the energy to begin my journey to Laos and get the minibus to the airport.

I bumped into some girls who were on the Halong Bay trip and they said they were getting the 27 hour bus ride. Despite my flight costing an extra $100, I felt it was justified as it would only take an hour! (I value my sanity too much)

The aeroplane was probably the smallest one I'd ever been on and it had propellers too!

The flight was over in no time and just a short tuc tuc ride & an argument over the price, I checked in at the Mixay Guesthouse.

I arranged to meet a girl from Ireland (Vickie) who I was chatting with at the airport. We went for a bite to eat and one or two beer lao's. Like a true gent I didn't want a western girl walking back to her hotel alone.

After dropping Vickie off, I wandered back to my hotel. During which I was growled at by crazy looking dogs, and harassed by several ladyboy prostitutes (don't know which is worse). I think it was me that required the escort home not Vickie!!

I had a pleasant night sleep and a nice lie in. I bumped into an Israeli girl who was staying in my dorm in Beijing! She was also staying at the Mixay Guesthouse.
