The Great Wall of China. Today I went to visit one of the 7 or 8 (cant remember how many) wonders of the world, "The Great Wall of China". What a truly spectacular sight! The day didnt get off to the greatest of starts. I was meant to meet in reception at 7.20 and woke up to find 7.30 on my clock! I'm not sure if it was the jet lag, the heat or the fact the mattress feels like it's made out of concrete. Either way I struggled to get to sleep last night. Anyhow...

I managed to make it through day 1 of my trip unscathed, belongings in tact and camera fully within my grasp. After arriving at the hostel I took a much needed shower before heading out to see some Beijing delights. I visited Tianamen square, which is only a short walk from the hostel. I've made it!! So after almost a days worth of travelling I have reached my destination, the Leo Hostel Beijing. After a smooth landing the immigration and airport transfer was effortless. I must admit, I was a little concerned, however there are plenty of English translations on signs etc. The hostel did offer a shuttle service for around £20-30, however I decided to start as I mean to carry on and find my own route.
