Today our trusty bilingual 'guide' took us through the Sierras to the town of Guadalest to visit the spectacular El Castell De Guadalest and Casa Orduna clearly the builders of the castle, church and associated buildings were not scared of heights or if they were they were more scared of their rulers!!!
The journey by winding roads through the mountains was spectacular but the views from the highest parts of the Castell were truly breathtaking. The reservoir in the valley below is the most amazing turquoise colour and is the water source for Benidorm. Whilst we saw very few cars on the road from Pedreguer there were a lot of tourists there when we arrived. Probably a few of the more adventurous souls game enough to put down there pints and fish and chips and venture away from the hotels and bars of Benidorm.
After a lot of steps, souvenir shops and a traditional lunch washed down with Sangria (Linda's traditional lunch consisted of egg and chips - we almost sent her back with the Benidorm mob!). We headed back home to a welcome dip in the pool and a bit of a siesta (had to charge batteries before heading out again)
David and Elaine joined us tonight for dinner at Punta Benimaquia restaurant In La Jara. We had a good meal along with some good
