Well woke up this morning to the thought of packing and going home. We retrieved our cases and packed all the clothes we did not use (most of them!) and the few that we did. We had a final coffee aboard Katsumi - our home for the last 10 days before loading up and heading for Cairns for lunch prior to going to the airport for our flight home. Well our penultimate day in Port Douglas has been a fairly casual day, which started with a cooked breakfast aboard Katsumi. Linda and I spent the morning in town shopping and checking out the shops and eateries before having a fish and chip lunch on the boardwalk at the marina. A short siesta in the afternoon was the order of the day before joining Nick, Lyndy, Lily and Sayuri at The District club for a drink and to watch the boats entering and leaving the marin...

Well a big birthday lunch at 'Salsa' in Port Douglas with the guest of honor 'Linda' and Lyndy, Lily, Nick and me. Great venue, spectacular food both taste and visually also friendly efficient service. Three hours later we staggered out and walked back to the Marina where we are chilling out and resting up to get ready for our inboard birthday party tonight!

Well I had the best night's sleep of the trip after the long trip from Lizard, the peace and tranquility of the bay at Low Isles. Another lazy start to the day and then a trip in the kayak to the island for a walk around followed by more food and drinks while doing more relaxing pretty well summed up our day. We had a leisurely start to the day. The day was spent on the beach,snorkeling kayaking and sailing. In the evening we went back to the beach for the 'happy hour' only one other couple (Barbara and Paul Banks) joined us as most had gone to the Marlin bar at the resort for a pizza night. Once night fell we all went back to Katsumi for a bottle of bubbly to 'Whet the Babies head' Barbara had just heard that her Niece in England had just given birth to a baby boy. ...
