Six Months Baby
Well we arrived in Cairns on the 2nd of April, lucky we were caught a plane from Darwin so we didnt have to bloody sit in a coach for god knows how long, which was a relief.
When we were in Darwin, we got chatting to a girl who recommended a place called the Asylum, as you could guess we were not to sure, however we were up for an experience, oh and it was an experience and a half. Anyway on with the fun. The first night was treated as everywhere else in Style, we ended up in a place called the Woolshed which was quality, good music, loads of girls and anything goes. Oh and we had great fun trying to get home, we got well lost.
Couple of days later, it was the FA Cup semi final AFC vs Man Utd and Spurs vs Chelsea, we decided we were not going to drink alot to night, just a couple as we started our Dive of the Great Barrier Reef the next day and have a guess what happened next.... we got drunk however we would not know till the next morning how stupid we had been, however it was worth it as Arsenal lost and Chelsea beat Spurs again. mmmm... the next day, ouch!! is not the word, on the small boat out to the main live aboard, you could say all 3 of us were not to well, a bit of sea sickness hit us, we all looked greener than the sea. We eventually got to the liveaboard, thank god. If you minus the boat there, it was probably the best thing have done so far, it was so cool. We got to see some turtles, one even was swimming (what a sight), a shark and some beautiful reefs. The only real problem was that the visabilty was not great. We got to dive loads of time and we even did a night dive which was an experience, it was so cool, sadly we didnt see a lot but we did see the shark then. Out of all the dives the best was saved till last, swimming through some amazing reef and we even found Nemo! didnt you see us in the film. We even got the head dude to guide us around, unbelievable is an understatement, i cant wait till i get another chance.
The night we arrived back at the Asylum, it was time for the Hostel bar crawl, $10 for 5 free drinks, a meal and a t-shirt, bargin. As you can imagin and as you can see from the pictures we got rather drunk again, with a bloke called Ian from Scotland and Rob from Holland who were a good laugh. Over the night dan got started on by a very drunk girl cause he wouldn't punch her (weird), we taught the rest YMCA, dan and matt performed sexual positions with each other. Oh we saw the funniest thing Mr Backpacker, two japanese blokes were the funniest thing ive seen all holiday, we were in tears, arrr.. then the Miss Backpacker, mmmm.... what can be saw some fit and some less fitter ladies dancing on tables, great fun! Oh have a look at http://www.asylumbackpackers.com, then go to mad monday and click on april the 5 and have a browse
On our last day in Cairns we hired a car, a lovely hyundi and we drove to Cape Tribulation just north of Cairns. Our first stop off was Mosson Gorge which was beautiful, loads of little waterfalls, some lovely view across the mountains and rain forest. We then made our way up to Cape tribulation, but sadly it was not the best weather however we had a walk along the beach and through the rain forest surrounding it, which was pretty good, then we made our why back in our lovely hired car, it was really cool being able to drive again.
Oh i just forgot Come on the Chelsea, Bridge 87th min, i love it!!
