Hervey Bay home to Frazer Island. We arrived here after quite along time on the OZ bus and we were well looking forward to Frazer Island. We booked it as soon as we got there really for 3 days, 2 nights safari selfdrive in a 4x4 with a group of 8 other people. A few days after we booked it we met our group and planned our trip, like food, drink and who can drive and so on. The night before our trip we met up with our group for a drink and a quiz at the on site bar which we won loads of hat and free drinks. The next day we set off for Frazer Island in our lovely jeep, getting to know the rest of the group and from the out set we knew we were going to have a good time and oh we did. We drove for quite awhile till we arrived a Rainbow Gorge, which was huge sand dune made up of different colour sand, it looked like something out of Star Wars it was well cool. After getting filled with sand we made our way to Eli Creek which was a freah water creek and we had lunch and a swim down the river to get rid of all the sand on us. We then made our way up to a ship wreck which had rusted away on the beach since 1935. It was some kind of troop carrier. Then we set off to Base Camp just a bit north. We set up camp (two tents) and then we started our BBQ (Steak etc.) it was a feast i can tell you which Monten and myself prepared along with Dan and Matt and then on to the alcohol and a party on the beach around the camp fire, with the rest of the other parties and our group it was another quality night under the moon and good old Gary decided to have a swim with the sharks and lost his flip flop and he never really recovered from losing this flip flop did you gary. The second day we all felt well rough and i woke up covered in sand as everyone decided to cover me in sand and burie me, sadly not many people remembered a great deal from that night, which proves it was a quality night. So we made our way north to the top of the island to a place called Indian Hills which was a volcanic hill which over looked the sea and on a good day we were told you could see sharks, turtles and whale, sadly it was a bad day for us but there was some brilliant views. We then made our way further north to a place called the Champagne pools which was a long walk along the beach. The pools were really nice and the name champagne came from the waves crashing against the rocks next to the pools and the splash comes over the top of the rock into the pools and they were quite refreshing after a long walk. We then had to make our way back to base camp as the tied was coming in. We got back to camp and started drinking straight away and also started dinner, a pasta, potato and tuna thing. On to the drinking games, of course 'Formula 1' and then 'I have never' which turned into revelation fest, with some very funny facts about our group coming out, i wont mention anynames, Gary and Mike you dirty boys. We then moved down to the beach for another night of frolics under the moon with everyone repeating their ways of the night before but some what different though as there was not as many people around tonight. Once again everyone woke up feeling worst for wear after our last night on Frazer Island, and on top of that we had to pack up and make our way off the island however we still had time to have a swim in Lake McKenzie which was beautiful with white sad and clear fresh water, sadly we only had about an hour at the lake so we played around a bit and made our way home. However the fun and games did not finish here as we carried on partying that night with the rest of the group as it was a garbage bag party and what a sight we all were gary and Mike looked liked bank robbers and god knows what the rest of us looked like, you can try and work it out cause we have no idea and once again we got well drunk and stayed up all night drinking. What a couple of nights and days, seeing some unbelievable sights and being with a group that made the whole trip a experience an unforgetable experience thanks you lot, Gary, Mike, Heather, Morten, Emily, Alex, Lousie, Beth and Heather. She got two mentions as she was rather sexy and a complete head case we love you. Hope to see you all again.
