Arrived in Barcelona yesterday avo excited and full of anticipation. We taxied to our hotel after walkg rnd in search of the hotel bus we expected on our arrival but alas to no avail. It wdnt be because we forgot to book it would it???
Well well what an excellent day we had. Starbucks for breakfast hmmmm rather pricey when rnd da cnr was half the fare however very helpful in gettg us started bort a 10 trip bus ticket which took us to Park Guell an awesome intoxicating and exhilarating experience we even thought the police were after us as we bought trinkets hats and a scarf one minute we were chatting with the vendor next minute he scarpered and cops everywhere. We were chasing him so we could pay. I pocketed the goods whilst Steve stealthily slid his way towards the offender to pay for what was then stolen goods and then he chased us as we gave him too much money and also forgot to pick up the rest of our purchases. We lost the cops
On to our next expedition Sagrada Familia we could only take photos as tickets already sold out. We listened to an American tour guide describing Goudies life and influences and even mentioned what looked like a Christmas tree cd be mistaken for a hippies answer to prayer. He went on to mention that the highest steeple would be 170 metres just one metre short of the Lords highest hill in the area. I must add that we walked and walked and walked discarding the idea of the bus zipping us past all the exquisite sights that could only be grasped on foot.
La Pedrera was an overload of the senses as Goudi believed there was no straight lines in nature neither should there be in architecture. His work mind boggling drawing from the viewer imaginations and fascinations, a man beyond his time in the field of architecture.
We finished the days adventures at an Italiano restaurante and ohh la la our first taste of olives tantalising awakening the senses a bottle of red wine my half glass and my esposo managed nearly two we sadly left the bottle still 1/3 full see photos i ordered a delectable pasta dish comprising sundried tomatos pinenuts and basil and my esposo lasagne
