THE TRAVEL TROTTERS ARE BACK
This time we are travelling around all of New Zealand and hopefully after that to PERTH
In 2024 we will be in our caravan, which we have named Nueva Vida, accompanied by our flash SUV an Isuzu MUX …but before we do, we need to get acquainted with caravan life.
Our very first experience was on the 2 to the 4 November 2023 at Waitarere, and we stayed at Hydrabad Holiday Park where we chose a powered site. It was exciting and scary as towing our home behind us was weird, but we have a new addition to our family, and that is Sophie girl along with our mascots Steve the Minion in the front of our MUX and Gemima Puddleduck who has taken up residence in our caravan.
Here we looked at the scanty remains of the shipwreck Hydrabad which is almost all buried in sand. As a local tells us half a metre of land is claimed back every year, hence why the wreck is so far inland.
We were both too scared to use our caravan Wharepaku so resorted to the amenities available to us, however did enjoy using our shower.
Our second road trip was to Kaitoke Regional Park which was a powerless site on the 16 November and would have stayed until the 19 November if we didn’t go to the Lions Fundraiser dance, the gates closed at 9pm so we would have been locked out
