We arrived at Kununnura and after finding our caravan site we had one thing on our minds- washing. I found the washing machines and Steve found the car wash area. Next we went into town to stock up on some provisions for our next leg of the trip. We also needed to catch up on some phone calls and emails after 10 days off air.
Yesterday we were booked to go on a flight at 6 a.m. Over the Bungle Bungles, Argyle Lake, The Ord River System and the Argyle Diamond Mine. We got bumped off the early flight onto a 9 30 flight and that was also delayed so eventually we took off about 10.30. It was fantastic to see all the sights from above and certainly made us appreciate how vast this area is. Also how much work is being done in this area on large scale projects as well as seeing some of Australia's natural beauty from above. As we were sitting at the back of the plane we felt every bump and a little dose of motion sickness took a little of the shine off the trip but it was something we both wanted to do.
Once safely back on solid ground we spent a quieter afternoon visiting some of the sights around Kununnura. These included the Indian Sandlewood plantations and the Zebra Stone Gallery.
Today we are setting off for a drive to Lake Argyle to get a view from the ground.
