We had a late start this morning and after losing our power in the van our first stop was Home Hardware to get a new power board (but we discovered when we got home this afternoon and tested it ,the board wasn't the problem. It was a wire in the power cord that Steve was able to fix - turn's his hand to anything!)
After this we took a leisurely drive out to Lake Argyle. The scenery was superb and perfect weather made for a very enjoyable day. The wall of The Ord Dam has been made of rocks cut from a local mountain and the clay and the rocks stop the water. It is a fantastic piece of engineering and the size of the Lake is gigantic. We had lunch after checking out the dam and surrounds and then drove back to Kununura.
This evening we strolled up the street to enjoy the sunset over the water of Lake Kununura and also enjoyed a drink and pizza at the Pumphouse Restaurant. A perfect ending to an enjoyable stay at Kununura.
Tomorrow we set off early for Katherine , where we are staying for a night before driving into Litchfield National Park, just south of Darwin. Steve's brother, David and his wife Zeny are coming down to see us on Wednesday for lunch. We will be staying 3 days before returning to Katherine at the end of the week.
We probably won't have a lot of time or coverage to blog during the week so we will catch up with all our news next weekend.
