Hello! No, it is not a blog by an elderly Aboriginal gentleman...it's Leah! No, I have not had extensive plastic surgery nor spent too long in the outback I just liked the picture!
OK...blog.
We have returned from our adventure in the "bush" and Billy Connolly was right again; there was more than one bush it should be "bushes". Was surprised how much vegetation there was out there. Don't get me wrong it was still a red (REALLY RED) desert and there was a hell-of-a-lot-of "b***** All"!!
Alice Springs is described as being popular as the most famous outback town and for it's "proximity" to sites such as Uluru. HA...it's HOURS away. I was told this but it's REALLY miles away!! And there is NOTHING in between.
Anyway, we went on a FANTASTIC 3 day tour of Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta and Uluru with a group of about 20 and a v cool guide called Hayley. Camping under the stars in our swags, building fires, cooking in the bush, hiking, bush medicine, flies galore, games, amazing aboriginal culture, and a whole lot of driving through "b***** All". It was brilliant!!
Back in Alice we relaxed, ate out, bought some aboriginal art, climbed Anzac hill and visited the reptile house. We agreed it was an interesting place but a few days was enough- couldn't live out there!
Headed back on the Ghan, caught up with the family in Adelaide and then did the Overland train (our favourite) back home. Tomorrow we are flying to Sydney for Izzy and Terry's wedding so will be away this weekend too. Please take a look at our photos and I'm sure there will be more coming v soon...you lucky people!!
Hope everyone is well back home, I've not been on the phone for a while! Catcha later xx :-)
