We arrived here last night after the JOURNEY FROM HELL. a five hour bus ride on a clapped out old banger that broke down after 2 hours in the middle of nowhere (I mean it we were lucky to be on tarmac) . The driver disappeared for 4 hours, we had no idea where, and returned to fix the bus which took another 3 hours. We arrived on an overnight sleeper train from Hanoi at 11am, it took 12 hours!! it wasn't too bad, as we shared a cabin (with 6 beds) with a Vietnamese family travelling to Saigon. Its a good way to get to know the locals! They had a 9 month old boy and a 3 year old girl...both very cute. Far better than a bunkhouse in the lakes.....
