Wednesday 23rd November

Moving Day! I moved hostels to be with my new friends. I checked into an 8 bed dorm and made even more friends with my new roommates. I went to the shopping outlet where I bought a new top and an evening bag. I am trying to be strict with myself and throw things away when I buy new things but it is hard. I'm tempted to post stuff back to Melbourne where my suitcase is, that I won't be using!

In the evening, it was time for the hostel's weekly bar crawl. For only $20 we got 6 free drinks, one in each place and free entry to every location. We also got a wristband for discounted drinks as well so we all had a very cheap night out. It was loads of fun, there were some competitions, one of our friends did a zip wire across the pool. I also won a competition and got 5 free drinks in a bar which I am yet to use.

It was such a great night and there were a few people out from the rainforest tour as well so it was good to catch up with them from the other hostels and go out with everyone.

Thursday 24th November

We all had a long lie in today after our big night out and then me and a couple of girls I have met walked into town in the sun and rain. I bought some more clothes, just some shorts, a nice going out top, some flip flops and some sandals. I had to throw away my silver sandals which I love because they basically snapped in half when I wore them out last night! In the evening, we chilled at the hostel and played some card games until bed time! The whole day we were all quite hungover so an early night was the best cure.

Friday 25th November

I have been dying to get some good internet access so we went into town again to use the free internet that some of the travel agents provide for you. I have booked my flight to Sydney which will be on 6th December, so from now until then I will stay in Cairns. I have been bitten to death by the mosquitos here and they are so itchy so it will be good to get to Sydney asap away from the biting mozzies. After we came back from town, me and a couple of people went into the hostel swimming pool and played some volleyball (my skills were slightly better in the pool than the first time I played this on the sand!) Then in the evening we just watched a movie in the hostel and were in bed by midnight.

Saturday 26th November

Attempted to get on the internet this morning again but it was extremely slow so took a bus to the shopping centre where Kazz (a friend I met on the rainforest tour) told me how nice everything I wanted looked so she MADE me spend my money!! Haha she'll hate me for blaming her but it's better than saying it was all my doing! But it's ok because I saved money on the next 9 nights I have booked at the hostel because I now have a discount card! And I am also going to post some things back to Melbourne and throw some things away that I don't want anymore.

Internet time again - me and Inge have walked into town with our netbooks to sit in MacDonalds and use their free internet! We're very happy we've finally found internet which works, still slow but still useable!

Tomorrow, me and 4 other girls are going on a two day road trip up to Cape Tribulation and Port Douglas so will be back on Monday night.
